On January 18, 2023, CHRC notified Dana (the Complainant) and Fisheries and Oceans Canada (the Respondent) of the next steps in the processing of the complaint. These steps were:
- If you are the Respondent, complete and submit a response form to the Commission and the Complainant (within 60 calendar days). The Commission is asking the Respondent to file any new Preliminary Issues.
- If you are the Complainant, after you receive a written response from the Respondent, you will have 60 calendar days to reply to the new Preliminary Issues.
Both the response form and Dana’s reply have already been submitted to the Commission.
The next stage of the process is to engage in Mediation with the Respondent (Fisheries and Oceans Canada). That Mediation has been scheduled for August 3, 2023.
