We submitted an ATIP (Access to Information and Privacy) request that asked for this:
On November 6th, 2023, a Diversity and Inclusion Symposium was held at the Victoria Canadian Coast Guard (hereinafter CCG) base. Participants also attended on-line. Without limiting the generality of this request, we seek:
- All unedited electronic recordings of comments made by Derek Moss to symposium members. We are also seeking copies of any decks, speech or talking point outlines that he used for this session.
- We would also like copies of any phone texts, emails, briefing notes that Moss, or his designate, subsequently sent that report on and/or summarize matters of the Symposium to Executive members higher up in the CCG organizational structure than Moss himself.
This request includes any further distributions of Moss’s report’s contents or the substance of his report that were subsequently made to other Executives in the CCG or Department of Fisheries organization (e.g. includes upper level executives within the CCG and Department of Fisheries, including the Human Resources and Wellness Directors, Legal Directors, CCG Commissioner himself or his office’s staff persons, Ministerial Office staffers, and the Deputy and Fisheries Minister herself).

These are the only documents received from this request – just the meeting notes. Given the nature of the response, we infer that there was no briefing upwards, or flagging of the concerns he raised at the symposium to upper management.
