We finally received the latter of our two Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) release packages. We shared the first with you last month. To refresh, these were the notes summarizing Derek Moss’s opening remarks to the November 6th, 2023, Diversity and Inclusion Symposium was held at the HMCS Malahat. Here is that document again: Diversity and Inclusion Symposium speaker notes
Recently, we received the second release package which was associated with Chris Henderson’s October 19th, 2023, meeting with Women in Fleet in Victoria. This latter release contains:
- (1) the emails that led up to the meeting;
- (2) summaries, notes and a survey that set out examples of bullying, harassment, and discrimination that Women members have and are experiencing within the CGC fleet and
- (3) suggestions by you of some of its systemic causes (e.g. organizational culture; a poor harassment policy framework that prevents it from being appropriately addressed). You can access a copy of this second release here: Women in Fleet ATIP response

Late last week, we submitted both ATIP release packages to the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC). Now we await word from them on what next steps are to take place, in relation to same. We trust you will find it an interesting read. We believe it is important and significant information that we asked the CHRC to file for further consideration given its relevance to Dana’s complaint and the remedies she is seeking.
